Hulu Releases PBS Programming: Fans go Wild

Hulu is a video-streaming site. You can’t really compare it to YouTube, because it’s commercially-driven to provide TV/Movie/Documentary clips and shows. It’s becoming quite the popular site, and I had to make sure the students in the dorms couldn’t get to it, but…. For those of you on the “outside”….

As part of Hulu’s “Days of Summer” promotion where they release something new every day to keep people coming back…. They released a lot of PBS programming, including Carrier (a show about a USS Nimitz carrier ship), a design show, and three science shows which I’m going to have to watch… Nova (an example clip  is embedded below), Scientific American, and Wired Science.

Looking forward to learning some stuff. If you hear me rattling of scientific terms, you’ll know why..

Oregon Trail Now Available for Mobile Phones

In a follow up to one of my more popular posts about playing Oregon Trail in flash format, you can now waste even more time dying of dysentery on your phone! Mobile games developer Gameloft has released its updated version of The Oregon Trail. The game costs $4 (or more, depending on your carrier) and introduces several new gameplay elements to the elementary school classic.

Mozilla Announces Release Date for Firefox 3 — June 17th

After more than 34 months of active development, and with the contributions of thousands, we’re proud to announce that we’re ready. It is our expectation to ship Firefox 3 this upcoming Tuesday, June 17th.

I’m signed up to download this great new browser, and I’ve been using the Release Candidates since they were released, and it’s the best browser out there, hands down. So speedy and so many features, and remarkably easy to use
